The hourly rate of pay is $22.05. This position is located at our Plant on Route 30 in Gettysburg.** The Kiln Attendant manually loads and unloads tile for the firing process. The Kiln Attendant also performs periodic quality checks of the fired tile. Major Functions and Scope: + Loads greenware into the kilns per loading schedule. + Unloads fired tile from setters into bins. + Transport fired tile from kiln to staging area for shipping. + Maintains kiln cars and makes minor adjustments as necessary. + Performs quality checks on kiln as required. + Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor. + Follows standard operating and safety procedures. + Keeps area safe, clean and organized. + Performs other related duties as required. Education and Knowledge: + High school diploma or equivalent . Experience: + A minimum of 1 year prior manufacturing experience. + Prior experience working in a kiln environment preferred. Competencies: + Good oral and written communications skills. + Good record keeping skills. + Good listening skills. + Accurate measurement capability. + Ability to understand and speak basic English. + Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner. + Ability to differentiate between colors. + Ability to work independently.
