The Disaster Relief Kitchen Helper will support food production efforts by assisting in the preparation, cooking, and assembly of nutritious meals for delivery to agencies and distribution sites, particularly during times of disaster or emergency. The role involves following established recipes and food safety guidelines to ensure all meals meet quality standards and comply with local, state, and federal regulations. The Kitchen Helper will also assist with kitchen maintenance, inventory control, and food delivery as needed.

??? Assist in large-scale food preparation and production, including cooking and assembling hot and cold food items (e.g., entrees, vegetables, and fruit) based on standardized recipes.??? Package prepared meals for delivery, ensuring all food safety standards (HACCP) are followed.??? Follow established production schedules, menus, and food safety guidelines.??? Accurately measure and prepare ingredients required for meal production, ensuring consistency and quality.??? Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and packaging machinery.??? Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance tasks on kitchen equipment and workstations.??? Ensure the kitchen and storage areas are always maintained according to high sanitation standards.??? Assist with food inventory management, including conducting physical counts and reporting low stock items to the Kitchen Manager.??? Complete necessary paperwork, including daily, weekly, and monthly logs for all food items prepared, following established procedures.??? Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to reimbursable meal programs.??? Assist with meal packaging and loading for delivery to various agencies or disaster relief locations.??? Be available to drive food bank vehicles to make meal deliveries as needed, ensuring timely and safe transport.??? Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations during food preparation and handling.??? Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or violations of food safety standards to the Kitchen Manager immediately.??? Support the kitchen team with other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager, including general kitchen assistance, receiving donations, and preparing meals for special events or disaster relief efforts.
