Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product.
**Responsibilities**
**Position Summary:**
This position is responsible for the mixing and sorting of ingredients, set-up, operation, and disassembling of equipment used for production by mechanical means to produce both work in process and finished goods products. This job may include the loading, unloading of materials, packaging and finished goods products from racks or pallets. This position is a dual role working production needs then transferring into sanitation as directed by the plant production supervisor. This position has the responsibility to always comply with Safety work rules as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
1. Adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) during production, sanitation, and handling materials and ingredients. 2. Meet production performance requirements in a fast-paced work environment. 3. Transfers finished products and raw materials to identified location in the plant/warehouse or on production line. 4. Adhere to all safety requirements including the wearing of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required for each work activity or job. 5. Perform RedZone checks as needed. 6. Test product temps. 7. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner. 8. All food safety and human safety concerns need to be reported to appropriate personnel such as shift lead, shift supervisor, QA technician, Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc. 9. All other duties as assigned Qualifications Knowledge: • Ability to apply good judgement and understanding to carry out detailed instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form • Ability to communicate production issues, counts, and weights to supervision or lead personnel. • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations • Knowledge of GMP and safe food manufacturing practices a plus Education/Experience: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) • Two or more years industrial equipment or food manufacturing experience preferred. • Forklift/Pallet Jack experience preferred. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for extended periods of time, bend or move utilizing proper lifting techniques, reach with hands and arms to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet, cold, warm and messy conditions. Candidates should be comfortable working in challenging environments while maintaining safety and productivity. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
