Posting Number S01336JP Department Dining Service - Moulton Union Job Summary Under supervision of the Head Chef, Assistant Chef, and Cold Food Production Coordinator, the Production Assistant is responsible for the following: + Preparing and serving food items in dining halls + Work independently and in a team setting within the cold food production area. + Assist with set up, service, and clean-up of food serving line + Follow appropriate food handling and storage procedures + Serve food in serving line while adhering to portion control and serving procedures + Monitor and record refrigerator or freezer temperature readings + Adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines, including related documentation + Provide support and leadership to meet the goals of the cold food production area and may operate computerized board checking system and perform other cash transactions. + Provide occasional coverage at checking station by greeting dining service patrons, verifying student ID #s/board participation for specific meals Pay, Benefits, and Perks: + The starting pay range for this position will be $18.65/hour. Preferred: + Previous Culinary coursework or certification Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents Required: + Demonstrated understanding of food preparation in a fast-paced environment. Preferred: + 1-3 years of food service experience. + ServSafe Certification (Dining employees will be provided training within their first six months to become certified). + A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the requirements of the College’s Motor Vehicle Use Policy. + Prior experience with food preparation techniques and their application in institutional settings. Standard Work Days and Hours Available Shifts: + Option #1 – Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: 6:30 am – 2:30 pm, Tuesday: 12:30 pm – 8:30 pm, Wednesday and Thursday: Off. This position is a full-time, academic year round position working 40 hours/week for 38 weeks (.73 FTE ).
