Kitchen Utility - National Park Inn - Summer Seasonal

Compensation Amount:

17.25 USD HourlyClean all dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans both by hand and automated machine. Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of dish cleaning area and equipment. Assist culinary and other restaurant staff as needed. This position reports to the Kitchen Manager.

Wage: $17.25 - $17.25

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and cooking supplies using proper sanitation procedures including hand and machine washing. 

Maintain the kitchen, serving, and dining areas in clean and orderly condition to maintain a sanitary workstation and meet mandated health compliance requirements. 

Fill condiment, utensil, and other supply areas with stock as needed. 

Loading and unloading of inventory from trucks. Stocking storeroom and maintaining storeroom tidiness.  

Clean floor area of any spillage of water, detergent and/or food stuffs per safety and sanitation guidelines. 

Pull trash from trash receptacles. Replace trash bags as needed. Clear trash from tables and floors/grounds. 

Keep all trash cans double-lined and in sanitary condition. 

Assist chefs, line cooks, and dining room staff as necessary. 

Perform such other related duties as directed or required. 

Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to your manager 

 

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE 

Partial High School; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred. 

Strong sanitation habits and attention to detail. 

Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and report it to management. 

 

 PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS 

Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. 

Lift, carry, and push up to 15 lbs. regularly, 20-30 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. 

Able to stand for extended periods and climb steps regularly while carrying 20-30lbs. 

Frequent immersion of hands in water. 

Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of co-workers and the ability to speak clearly to be understood by same in English. Reading and writing in English 

Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in fast paced kitchen. 

Withstand temperature extremes in freezer, refrigerator walk-in and grill areas.  

Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments. 

Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties. 

  

EQUIPMENT USED 

Commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning supplies.  

General custodial equipment including mop, broom, variety of cleaning chemicals and supplies 

Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used: goggles and gloves
