Knowledge Transfer Engineer

IDEXX is looking to hire a Knowledge Transfer Systems Engineer to join the New Product Development Manufacturing Process Development Team. In this role, you will create, maintain, and administer transfer related documents in support of New Product Development, specifically FMEAs (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis). This high visibility role will allow you to learn multiple IDEXX processes and grow while making connections across R&D, Operations, and our leadership team.

Preparation: determine scope and gather information; initial process mapping; assemble appropriate subject matter expert team; list, prioritize, and track FMEAs.

Conduct FMEA: list functions; determine failure modes; identify effects and causes of failures, mitigations, and detection; assess severity and prioritize risk(s).

Perform follow up activities: review high severity risks with management; identify corrective actions/critical process parameters; drive action items to completion; audit FMEA effectiveness; integrate FMEAs with V&V and Control Plans; document lessons learned.

Creates an environment that encourages all team members to express their ideas and opinions.

What can you expect?

Lead FMEA process (in collaboration with New Product Development, Product Support, and Operations teams) to successful completion with associated risks reduced to an acceptable level.

Collaborate with process and design owners (subject matter experts) for new product development.

Identify critical process parameters.

Track, drive, and follow up on action items derived from FMEAs.

Ensure the list of required FMEAs is identified and agreed upon by the appropriate team and is prioritized through a preliminary risk assessment.

Organize, facilitate, train, and be the go-to person to help FMEA teams meet expectations.

Form cross-functional teams to create / update FMEAs. Ensure the correct participants are present.

Represent Knowledge Transfer team on project Tech Transfer and/or Element teams.

Use a project management approach to determine timelines, develop plans, work with leadership and influence cross-functionally to best meet project objectives.

Provide reports and project status updates to senior management, stakeholders, review boards, and others, highlighting successes, concerns, milestones, resolved issues and other relevant project information.

What do you need to succeed?

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required with 3-5 years of experience.

Good understanding of life and biological sciences.

Experience with diagnostic instrumentation development.

Ability to lead without authority.

Strong initiative, flexibility, positive attitude, and the ability to function effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.

Excellent verbal, technical writing, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to maintain accurate and clear documentation.

Good presentation skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Active listening skills.

Ability to ask probing / clarifying questions.

Salary range starting at $90,000 based on experience
