Kubernetes Platform Engineer

International is looking for a Kubernetes Platform Engineer who will be responsible for the overall health, operation, and automation of the Kubernetes environment used to host applications within a given domain and the operation of the Kubernetes cluster including monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting, and maintaining a healthy environment. The individual will work closely with the technical members of the product teams developing the applications and help establish the hosting environment needed by the application, contribute to the development and use of pipelines needed to support CI/CD for the application, and define the KPIs needed to monitor the applications. The role be a hybrid role base at our Lisle, Illinois Corporate Headquarters. Responsibilities + Design, implement, and manage Kubernetes clusters on Azure. + Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of .NET applications into Kubernetes. + Follow industry best practices and enterprise policies to automate the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. + Monitor and optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of the Kubernetes environment. + Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and enterprise security practices. + Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes infrastructure and application deployment. + Aid in the development of CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing. + Document processes, configurations, and best practices. Minimum Requirements + Bachelor’s degree + At least 5 years of software engineer experience OR + Master’s degree + At least 3 years of software engineer experience OR + At least 7 years of software engineer experience Additional Requirements + Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills + Experience as a Kubernetes Engineer or similar role using Azure, AWS, or GCP. + Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration. + Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure DevOps. + Understanding of .NET applications, including ASP.NET, specifically around the development and deployment process. + Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices. + Understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure as code (IaC), preferably using Terraform. + Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Strong communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal.
