KYC Analyst (6 month fixed term contract)

In J.P. Morgan, the Wholesale KYC Operations (WKO) team plays a critical role in ensuring that as an organization, we are compliant with multiple regulations, in order to protect the bank’s reputation and financial assets.

As a Know-Your-Client (KYC) Analyst within the Wholesale Know-Your-Client Operations (WKO) team, you will adhere to the KYC and due diligence activities, by complying with procedures and practices stipulated by the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) KYC policy team. You are responsible for conducting reviews of client’s KYC documentation stored in internal repositories and publicly available information, performing the necessary screening against relevant search engines and sanction lists and communicate any additional deficiencies back to the business. You will be working closely with the Middle office team to ensure KYC due diligence activities are completed on time.

This role is intended to be for an initial term of approximately 6-7 months only, however, subject to business needs, the contract may be extended or converted to permanent employment.

Job Responsibilities

Liaise with Middle Office on client on-boarding / sales for required documents and sign-off  Timely review of client’s KYC documentation in accordance with the firms AML/KYC policies and procedures  Validate accuracy of data in KYC platforms and ensure completeness of document package  Validate all documentation uploaded into the KYC tool Complete onboarding efforts and projects to clean up data and documentation and coordinate with other areas as needed (COB, Compliance, Sales, Client Service) Act as an SME and Due Diligence expert to guide Middle Office through the KYC requirements and variation of documents which may fulfil due diligence requirements  Conduct in-depth analysis on the ownership structure of the client on publicly available sources (not limited to company registries) or client documentation, and seek additional confirmation or approvals as required  Work closely with the Middle Office, to obtain all necessary supporting evidence to full KYC due diligence Manage personal workload and priority items and ensure timely escalation of key risks/issues to management  Keep informed of any changes to processes and procedures, regulatory change and ensure open verbal dialogue with colleagues across the region  Identify and execute process improvements, provide guidance and support on key process and technology initiatives to the business

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Knowledge of multiple client types (i.e. Corporates, SPV, Trust, F.I.’s. etc.) Working knowledge of KYC / CIP / AML rules and regulations  Knowledge of financial industry with in-depth expertise in various lines of business (Corporate Investment Bank and heritage lines of business)  Strong verbal and written communication skills  Strong time management, organizational, relationship building skills Quality client focus, strong controls mind-set and strong customer service skills(e.g. oral and written communication skills)  Prior experience of adhering to controls and compliance standards  Ability to grasp/learn concepts and procedures quickly

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience in financial services (KYC, client-onboarding, Audit, Control, Risk, AML, and Research) Experience in client Due Diligence, risk assessment and vetting of PEP & negative news Multi language capability in either Mandarin/Japanese/Korean language (written and spoken)
