Job Description
The Laboratory Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing support to customers and clients as well as administrative support to the clinical laboratory in an accurate and timely manner. This position operates under the supervision and direction of the General and Technical Supervisors.
Responsibilities
+ Record and communicate daily sample volume to the appropriate clients in a timely manner.
+ Record and resolve sample issues; communicate issues and resolutions.
+ Maintain an organized system for ready access and retrieval of current and archived records and forms.
+ Maintain sample volume logs and other metrics related to the samples such as Turn-Around-Time.
+ Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
+ Answer phone calls in a professional and helpful manner. Document the phone call as per company's methods.
+ Respond to emails in a timely and appropriate manner.
+ Handle reporting and data entry tasks associated with releasing results to clients daily in a timely manner (50% of job).
+ Identify problems related to their own work that may adversely affect test reports and consult with a Supervisor for corrective actions.
+ Perform and document all corrective actions as assigned.
+ Assist in quality control/improvement activities.
+ Complete and document all mandatory trainings, including annual safety training.
+ Complete and document continuing education activities, as applicable to work.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ 2-3 years Administrative support experience.
+ 2-3 years Data Entry experience.
+ Customer Service experience.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
+ Typing speed of 50 wpm or higher.
+ Attention to detail.
Work Environment
This position requires working 30% of the time in the lab and 70% in an office setting, so candidates must be comfortable in both environments. Appropriate gear such as gloves and lab coats will be provided. The working hours are from 9 AM to 5 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, with a 0.20 shift differential on Saturdays. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00
