The Newell Lab is recruiting a highly motivated Lab Aide to join our team. Our lab focuses on T cells and how they respond uniquely to different cancers or to cells infected with pathogens, such as malaria or HIV. Our goal is to identify peptides associated with activating antigen-specific T-cells, cells that play a central role in mounting immune responses to cancer or infectious diseases. Techniques we regularly use in the lab include flow cytometry, single cell sequencing, and CyTOF, a specialized flow cytometry based on atomic mass spectrometry.
The candidate will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and/or lab manager in performing research and contributing to daily laboratory operations. The candidate will join an inclusive environment that supports creativity, professional development, and scientific discovery. Duties may expand based on interest and aptitude.
This part time position will be 19 hours per week.
Responsibilities Make, aliquot, and maintain stock solutions.May assist with routine research tasks, including molecular and tissue work.Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory area.Rinse and prepare materials for cleaning. Deliver materials to storage areas.Process biohazardous and chemical waste.Clean and maintain critical lab equipment.Take weekly inventory, restock, and order supplies and reagents.Perform clerical duties as required.Perform other related duties as assigned. High School diploma or equivalent.Demonstrated interest in science.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $29.54, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
