Job Title: Lab AnalystJob Description An environmental testing lab is seeking a dedicated Lab Analyst to support the analysis of VOC analytical samples. The role involves analyzing water, wastewater, soil, and sludge samples according to EPA and Standard Methods. The candidate will maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation such as GCMS, assist other analysts with sample overflow, support backlogs, review data, and ensure QA/QC reporting accuracy. The analyst will also communicate with clients regarding any compromised analysis and manage multiple batches daily in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities + Analyze VOC analytical samples, including water, wastewater, soil, and sludge samples according to EPA and Standard Methods. + Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation, such as GCMS. + Assist other analysts with sample overflow and support backlogs. + Review data and support QA/QC reporting. + Check analyst calculations, dilutions, and sample preparations for accuracy. + Communicate with clients regarding any compromised analysis. + Work on multiple batches daily in a fast-paced environment. Essential Skills + Chemistry + GCMS + Environmental lab experience + Quality control + Wet chemistry + Water testing Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a Physical Science required + 2-5 years of previous environmental laboratory experience preferred + Metals experience preferred + Experience working with VOC samples preferred Work Environment The lab comprises 8-10 personnel, and the Lab Analyst will work closely with other analysts in a fast-paced environment.
