Job Title: Lab Assistant

Job Description

We are currently seeking Lab Assistants for our clinical trials department. The Lab Assistant will be working in a high-volume, production-based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science.

ResponsibilitiesReceive and sort clinical lab specimens.Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.Troubleshoot any specimen-related issues.Replenish test bench supplies as needed.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.Aliquotting, filling the lab with supplies, and inventory management.Build batches of specimens and pass them on to the lab for processing.Pull repeat specimens and support lab testing up until passed off to technicians.Perform pre-analytical steps with a lot of pipetting involved.Work within a high-volume laboratory as part of a dedicated team to ensure patient results are reported within an acceptable turn-around-time.Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation.Perform required QC/QA duties which include error detection, maintain records/logs, and pull samples for testing.Essential SkillsAssociates Degree or Bachelors Degree in a science-related field is preferred but not required.0-1+ years of lab experience is preferred.Prior experience working as an accessioner or specimen processor is a plus.Additional Skills & QualificationsBiology experienceLab technician or lab assistant experienceWork Environment

Will be working in a fast-paced lab environment. This lab will be in charge of receiving and processing 100,000 samples a week. Openings are available across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
