Job Title: Chemistry Lab Assistant

Job Description

This individual will be responsible for collecting all daily used glassware from the Chemistry Labs. This includes glassware from the Raw Materials, API-LC, and API-NONLC labs. The role involves running most glassware through a dishwasher, using a pipette washer for pipettes, and ensuring the cleanliness and proper distribution of glassware on a weekly basis. Additionally, the individual will receive training on reagent preparation and some chemistry testing, but the primary focus will remain on glassware collection, washing, and distribution. This role will develop into also supporting reagent prep and chemistry testing, but the core function will be glassware collection.

ResponsibilitiesCollect dirty glassware from Chemistry Labs.Run most glassware through a dishwasher and use a pipette washer for pipettes.Ensure the proper cleaning and distribution of glassware on a weekly basis.Receive training on reagent preparation and some chemistry testing.Essential SkillsAssociates or Bachelors Degree in a Life Science discipline such as: Biology, or Biochemistry, or Chemistry, or Biomedical Science, etc.Experience in life science, laboratory, glassware, and chemistry.Additional Skills & QualificationsInterest in advancing to another role within the team, which requires a science degree.Ability to spend all day on their feet, with prior experience in roles such as retail, restaurants, manual labor, or farming.Work Environment

This role is based in a lab environment, 1st Shift, Monday-Friday. The individual will have their own glassware washing lab and will spend about one-third of their time there. The remaining two-thirds will be spent in the chemistry labs collecting, washing, and delivering glassware. There is very limited supervision in this role, and the individual is expected to perform daily duties independently.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00
