<h2><b>Overview</b></h2><div><div><div><p>Responsible for performing and reporting assigned laboratory tests as available to CLIA waived labs to provide diagnostic data for the treatment and/or diagnosis of disease.Under the direct supervision of a section supervisor responsible for the assigned shift as scheduled. Incumbents are subject to overtime and call back by the department as required by the hospital. High School diploma required. Specific lab training as acquired through clinical rotation or on the job training for waived lab according to State requirements.</p></div></div></div>ResponsibilitiesPerforms routine and special laboratory tests in designated areas of the laboratory in compliance with all CLIA, State and/or CAP standards.
Performs reagent and instrument quality control and records results, and reports problems to supervisory personnel as instructed in procedures and assists in resolving them in compliance with all CLIA, State and/or CAP standards.
Inventories, receives, and stores supply for assigned areas.
Pour-over and transport hazardous flammable waste to the hazardous waste drum collection area on the lab dock as needed Contributes to the positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.
Reports results as required in accordance with State laws as available to CLIA waived labs.
Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
EDUCATION: High School diploma required. May possess a medical office assistant degree or have training permit from the State of Tennessee and have completed clinical rotation for area assigned.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION: Not applicable to the position
EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures normally acquired by 3 months to one year of on-the-job training.
