Job Description
We are currently seeking Lab Assistants for our esoteric microbiology department. This role involves aliquotting, maintaining lab supplies, managing inventory, building batches of specimens, and passing them on to the lab for processing. You will also be pulling repeat specimens and supporting lab testing up until the samples are passed off to the technicians. This position requires a lot of pipetting and pre-analytical steps.
ResponsibilitiesReceive, stage, and aliquot specimens for testing.Work within a high volume laboratory as part of a dedicated team to ensure patient results are reported within an acceptable turn-around-time.Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation.Perform required QC/QA duties including error detection, maintaining records/logs, and pulling samples for testing.Support specimen collection and data entry processes.Essential Skills0-1+ years of lab experience preferred.Prior experience working as an accessioner or specimen processor is a plus.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in biology, lab technology, or similar fields is beneficial.Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Work Environment
You will be working in a fast-paced lab environment responsible for receiving and processing 100,000 samples a week. Currently, there is an opening on the 3rd shift from Tuesday to Saturday, 10 PM to 6:30 AM. This role provides a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and potentially move to various departments once the contract ends.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
