Job Title: Lab Assistant I
Job Description

Performs non-technical procedures in support of the testing process from initial set-up of supplies to disposal of waste.

ResponsibilitiesHandle serum, whole blood, plasma, and urine samples.Properly dispose of radioactive and biohazard waste.Perform sample management tasks such as volumization, building samples into load lists, labeling of samples, storage, and preparation for disposal.Assist in locating missing samples and pulling specimens from freezer storage locations.Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety requirements of regulatory bodies.Document all quality assurance activities including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.Follow any other job-related instructions and perform any other job-related duties requested by department management.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalentProficiency in data entryWork Environment

Requires the use of fingers and hands, standing, sitting, handling, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Regular exposure to potential blood-borne pathogens, radiation, and walk-in freezers. Schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, 3pm-11:30pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.80 - $19.80/hr.
