POSITION TITLE:  Lab Assistant I

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The lab assistant will be working remotely full time on a computational project developing an AI-based RNA folding method. Duties and responsibilities will include training and testing models to improve the accuracy of RNA folding, providing project updates at weekly virtual one-on-one meetings, and attending weekly lab meeting virtually.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 Develop, train, and test AI-based models to improve the accuracy of RNA folding predictions. Analyze model performance and implement refinements as needed.

Provide regular progress updates during weekly virtual one-on-one meetings with the supervisor, discussing challenges, findings, and next steps.

Participate in weekly virtual lab meetings to discuss research progress, share insights, and collaborate with team members on computational RNA folding methodologies.

Evaluate computational results, troubleshoot issues, and optimize model parameters to enhance RNA structure predictions.

REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained and a minimum of 1+ years of related experience.  or Associate degree, (scientific discipline) and (0-1 year), previous related experience required.

 COMPENSATION:

The expected hiring range for this position is $17.25 to $19 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
