Lab Assistant II - Irving, TX - Tuesday - Saturday 4:00 AM-12:30 PM
The Pre-Analytical Assistant II in the Tech Ops Department is responsible for knowing all of the functions of the Pre-Analytical Assistant I, plus additional functions.
Pay Range: $17.20+ per hour
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

All responsibilities of the Pre-Analytical Assistant I and II; meets or exceeds productivity and quality standards for Pre-Analytical Assistant I. Solves more complex problems on a routine basis. Demonstrates a basic understanding of how Specimen Processing and Tech Ops impact testing departments and result quality. Identifies problems with specimen types vs test orders, missing information, improperly positioned bar code labels, etc. with regard to load building, aliquoting, and test add processing. Understands the complex relationship between test(s) ordered and specimens received with load building to correct departments. Completes all required written documentation such that it is understandable to others, legible and within the assigned time frame. Meets quality and production standards within 6 months of completing training. Learns additional functions within Tech Ops and Specimen Processing to ensure cross-functional support. Adheres to all Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures, including safety and compliance. Performs all other duties as assigned. Demonstrates an understanding of compliance policies related to test ordering, which requires developing the ability to research test ordering information on translation tables, computer systems, and the directory of services. And sorts, racks, picks up and delivers specimens to the laboratory, specimen storage, operates centrifuge, aliquots.
