JOB SUMMARY
The Lab Assistant - Lab DCMH will work alongside technical staff performing waived testing, processing specimens, entering results into the LIS and performing specimen collections.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: High School diploma and/or one year in an approved technical program
Preferred/Optional: Associate degree in medical field (or equivalent experience).
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Minimum Required: Must be able to provide direct patient care with concern, professionalism, and attention to detail, must be able to practice infection control, understand sample requirements, prioritize appropriately, and communicate effectively. Must also maintain required competency in all areas where waived testing is performed.
Preferred/Optional: One year clinical/ phlebotomy experience.
