**Clean Harbors** in **Cleveland, OH** is looking to add a **Lab Chemist I** to our team. Our **Lab Chemist I** is responsible for sample preparation, the analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties.
**Shift:** Need availability for 3:30 pm-12:00 pm; Monday-Friday. OT and Saturdays will be periodically needed.
**Pay rate:** $23/HR+ $1.75 for the shift differential. Training will typically take place on day shift for 1-2 weeks.

**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times;
+ Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment that is in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations as well as all applicable company Health and Safety and Compliance protocols;
+ Performs analysis of samples following prescribed procedures, with the ability to solve minor problems;
+ Calibrates and utilizes instrumentation;
+ Maintenance of equipment, suggests solutions to problems;
+ Completes all paperwork associated with the analyses in a neat and timely fashion;
+ Ensures that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines;
+ Responsibility for supply management in their area of responsibility, including proper housekeeping and best management practices;
+ Responsible for proper management of waste generated as a result of analytical procedures.
**Key Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required;
+ Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or physical science is required;
+ 1-5 years’ experience in hands-on laboratory experience with wet chemistry testing methods;
+ Ability to set up and conduct chemical experiments/tests such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and titrations preferred;
+ Superior organizational skills coupled with a strong attention to detail;
+ Effective communication skills in writing and in verbal, will be interacting with people of various education and technical backgrounds;
+ Ability to work in a team environment.
