Lab Lead – St. Francis Eastside

Job Summary:

The Lab Lead functions as the department lead and coordinates the daily operations of the lab. They provide leadership and technical expertise to the lab assistants and couriers. In addition, working as the Lab Lead you will ensure that all testing results are reported within the required time frame, assist with safety training, resolves personnel issues, and provide input and documentation for performance reviews. Responsibilities include daily scheduling, data collection, inventory, and troubleshooting sample and customer issues.

Essential Functions:

Manages day-to-day supervision of the laboratory operationAppropriately trains new staff and is active in rounding and maintaining staff competency during and after training is completeMonitors test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained to ensure department efficientlyResolves technical problems by following policies and procedures established by the Laboratory Director Performs all duties of phlebotomists and processors, as neededProvides oversight for scheduling and timekeepingOther duties as assigned

Education:

High School Degree or GED (required)Associate Degree, Allied Health Sciences – Phlebotomy with additional coursework (preferred)

Certifications:

Phlebotomist Certification required

Experience:

Three years of phlebotomy experience required with EKG experienceMust have previous experience in a laboratory settingMust have previous experience in a leadership role

Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-pasted environmentEngage with staff and patients in a professional mannerStrong interpersonal communication and organization skills
