Lab Management Assistant (Part-Time)

Position Summary 

The lab management assistant will be responsible for collecting data related to research protocols in the Biobehavioral Mechanisms Explaining Disparities (BMED) Lab. Under the guidance of the lab manager and/or project coordinator, s/he will assist with running participant visits, and maintain study material, individual participant files, and standard operating procedures for the research projects. The position will handle sensitive and confidential information which must be secured, and s/he must be able to ensure private information of study participants remains confidential. 

This is a part-time position with 20 hrs./week schedule, and a term limited position until end of August 2024.

Hourly Rate:   $18-21 per hour

Requirements

HS Diploma or equivalent  2 years of experience in lab management

Skills:

Ability to multitask, prioritize, meet deadlines, analytical and organization skills Excellent organization and time management skills, customer service Excellent presentation skills including verbal and written communications Adaptable to changes, detailed oriented Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as proprietary databases Demonstrated decision-making ability and good judgment Ability to interpret complex regulations and requirements.

Preferences

Bachelor’s degree or college credits  Psychological laboratory and/or research experience. Able to keep sensitive and confidential information private.

Essential Functions

Prepares media for experimental use Performs intermediate research techniques as required Responsible for a database Interacts and takes direction with/from laboratory manager to ensure adequate preparation and supplies are available for study visits Performs all other duties as assigned
