Actalent is Hiring a Lab ManagerJob Description The Laboratory Manager is responsible for maintaining a positive operating margin, achieving the annual budget, and ensuring cost control. They supervise Department Managers, provide leadership, and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies. Responsibilities + Uphold and enforce company policies (Quality, Safety, SOPs, Ethics, Harassment). + Champion Health & Safety. + Manage the lab to meet budgetary goals. + Build and maintain customer relationships. + Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures. + Prioritize operations to meet goals and customer needs. + Provide periodic reports to the VPO. + Work with Project Managers to ensure accurate forecasts and timely deliveries. + Communicate goals and initiatives to employees. + Mentor and evaluate staff. + Support HR policies and IT resources. + Share best practices and provide technical assistance. + Approve lab purchases and maintain profitability. + Maintain lab metrics for quality and client experience. + Participate in budget creation and financial discussions. + Conduct regular meetings and performance reviews. Essential Skills + Lab management + Laboratory + Microbiology + Chemistry + Quality control + PLM + Polarized Light Microscopy + Mold + Asbestos Additional Skills & Qualifications + BS/BA in Chemistry or related field + 3 years supervisory experience + 3 years management experience + 5 years analytical or related technical field experience + Familiarity with lab regulations (DOT/OSHA/DOL) + Excellent communication skills + Customer relations + Budget management + Policy enforcement + Decision-making + Problem-solving + Organization Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
