About the role
Job DescriptionCompany Description:
Our mission is to provide sustainable waste and energy solutions to ensure no waste is ever wasted. At Reworld we believe the materials discarded every day should be utilized to their fullest potential to preserve the world’s valuable resources and generate clean energy for our client communities and the world we live in.
The Lab Pack Technician will be responsible for assisting in the packaging and labeling of chemicals into DOT approved containers. This individual will not be working directly in the lab but will be working both indoors and outdoors at plants, labs, and customer sites.
Responsibilities:
Properly packaging hazardous, non-hazardous, and off-specification commercial products under the supervision of a chemist and/or supervisor
Responsible for ensuring the proper paperwork and labeling is affixed to the containers per DOT guidelines.
Traveling to customer sites and conducting oneself in a professional manner
Housekeeping: Maintain a neat and clean working environment
Comply with OSHA Health and Safety Rules
Perform other lab pack duties as assigned, including de-pack activities when required.
Requirements:
Experience in the waste industry preferred
Higher education in Chemistry or related field or equivalent work experience preferred
Valid Class C CDL with hazmat endorsement- Class B desired
Obtain and keep current all required certifications including but not limited to 40-hour HAZWOPER, RCRA, and DOT
Be able to pass a Respirator Fit Test (RFT)/Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)
Requires frequent travel including overnight stays and driving in a vehicle
