We are seeking a motivated and skilled Lab Research Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will handle various mammalian cell lines/primary cells, bacteria cultures, and maintain their growth for specific in vitro experiments to evaluate wound healing products. You will perform routine microbiological techniques, histology, and different assays. Additionally, you will maintain laboratory equipment, order consumables, and ensure compliance with EHS and safety regulations. You will also perform statistical analysis of in-vitro studies and prepare scientific presentations. Collaboration with internal associates to develop and validate in-vitro and ex-vivo assays for wound healing may be required.
Responsibilities
+ Handle and maintain various mammalian cell lines/primary cells and bacteria cultures for in vitro experiments.
+ Perform routine microbiological techniques such as bacterial growth, streaking, spreading, plating, and colony count.
+ Conduct routine histology including embedding, sectioning, staining (immunohistochemistry, H&E, or immunocytochemistry) of animal and human tissue, and light/fluorescence microscopy.
+ Perform assays like ELISA, protein estimation, or PCR.
+ Maintain laboratory equipment calibration, order laboratory consumables, and ensure laboratory compliance with EHS and safety regulations.
+ Perform statistical analysis of in-vitro studies and prepare scientific presentations.
+ Collaborate with internal associates to develop and validate in-vitro and ex-vivo assays for wound healing, if needed.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with cell culture, in vitro assays, and microbiology laboratory techniques.
+ Minimum of 1-year industry experience with cell culture and general lab experience.
+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in molecular & cell biology, biomedical engineering, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or a related technical field.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ High level of organization and ability to handle multiple tasks.
+ Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
+ Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
+ Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus programs and/or community service activities.
+ Less than 5% travel required.
+ Ability to work on-site.
+ 1-2 years of hands-on laboratory work experience, especially in mammalian cell culture and microbial culture.
+ Experience performing studies, developing test methods, and generating reports.
+ Good documentation practices, including writing test protocols, generating final reports, and documenting meeting minutes.
+ Experience with multidisciplinary projects that require interfacing with different scientific disciplines (microbiology, material science, chemistry).
Work Environment
This is a long-term opportunity to gain additional industry experience with various wound healing products. The position requires full-time availability (40 hours/week) and the ability to work on-site. The work environment involves working with laboratory equipment and maintaining compliance with EHS and safety regulations. Dress code is standard laboratory attire.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
