Lab Services Team Lead

Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm. No Weekends. No Holidays.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist department leaders with the day to day operations of the Ascension Medical Group Point of Care TestingSend daily, weekly and monthly productions reports to management Assist with the training of new hires and the development of current employees Keep supervisor informed of group progress, problems, employee performance and any significant factors affecting assigned responsibilitiesPerform routine site visits to all locations they overseePartner with clinicians, leaders, and associates to ensure best practices are being followed for Point of Care testing Ensure quality and safety practices are implemented and followed at each locationMonitor training and competency assessment of associates performing Point of Care testingMonitor proficiency testing performance and resultsImplement new Point of Care test methodsMonitor quality control for Point of Care testingDetermine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteriaPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPsMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionalityPrepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controlsReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary Assist with processing of specimens when neededMaintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

 Requirements:

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirementsMinimum 3 years of experience as a Technologist/Technician ASCP and/or AMT Certifications are a plusPrior Point of Care experience is a plus for this roleUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office and GoogleStrong communication skills; both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills Comfortability making decisions in a changing environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the position
