Will oversee a staff of 20 - 25 employees in the urinalysis, blood bank and serology departments. Will be responsible for scheduling, training, competency of staff. Must ensure all regulatory requirements are met in the departments. Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 12:00am - 9:00am. 3rd Shift.

Job Responsibilities
Supervise the day to day operations of the urinalysis, blood bank and serology departmentEnsure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely mannerDirectly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the departmentMonitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverageResponsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffedResearch and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessaryEngage in continuous process and service level improvementsEnsure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality ControlPrepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentsEvaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendationsMeet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their developmentPerform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operationsEnsure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulationsResponsible for administering and managing policies and proceduresProcess and maintain payroll and personnel filesPerform administrative duties as neededRequirements
Associates or higher in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements5 Minimum years of experience as a Technologist/TechnicianPrevious supervisor/leadership experience is highly preferredUrinalysis, Blood bank and Serology Florida State LicenseASCP or AMT certification is preferredStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulationsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication skills; both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skillsComfortability making decisions in a changing environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionIf you're looking for a career that offers opportunities for growth, continual development, professional challenge and the chance to make a real difference, apply today!
