Lab Support Technician

Saint Luke’s East is looking for a Phlebotomist, Lab Support Technician to support our lab team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform blood draws and process specimens. Our lab is a multi-disciplinary and collaborative team with diverse backgrounds and experience levels, which ensures our vision of being “The best place to get care.  Outpatient Lab

  

Responsibilities:   

 

Collects patient samples in accordance with laboratory’s policy, procedures, and regulatory standards 

Documents receipt of patient samples in the LIS/EMR; processes and prepares samples for testing.  

May perform and report basic laboratory testing, as needed. 

Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection 

Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections 

 

Procedures may vary pending hospital location 

 

 

We are seeking a phlebotomist/lab support technician that is confident in their skills, patient focused, positive, and willing to go above and beyond for their patients and peers. Phlebotomy experience is preferred, but not required. We are looking for professionals who like to multi-task and stay busy, and able to adapt to rapidly changing laboratory workflow.
