We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lab Team Leader in the Global Insecticide Research Early Biology Group (APR/IE) at BASF's research facility in Research Triangle Park, NC. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary program focused on the discovery and mode of action elucidation of novel insecticides.

As a Lab Team Leader, you create chemistry by... Managing the Mode of Action Laboratory that focuses on elucidating the molecular targets for novel insecticidal molecules.Driving the development of innovative behavioral, physiological, microscopic and in vitro methods to identify and characterize the mechanisms of action of novel insecticide chemistries. Working in global project teams with colleagues in the US, Germany, India, and Philippines to support early through advanced phase projects, in addition to existing market products in collaboration with Global Strategic Marketing and Communications.Managing a team of direct reports; independently planning, scheduling, and executing projects of high complexity.Identifying and leading external collaborations for new technologies.Providing unconventional and innovative solutions to project problems; communicating well with team members, peers, and management, both locally and globally.Preparing reports and presentations for internal and external communication of project status, research findings and Mode of Action topics.


 

If you... Have the education and experience in the field of insect physiology, biochemistry, cell biology, or mode of action research (or relevant field) as stated below:Required: A PhD with 4 years of experience, or MS degree with 9 years of experiencePreferred: PhD with 8 years of experience, or MS degree with 14 years of experience. Display a proven track-record of developing and implementing innovative technologies in the area of agricultural science.Demonstrate a thorough understanding of insecticide mode of action and signaling pathways.Have a basic understanding of molecular biology and electrophysiologyHave previous experience with project management and leading research collaborations in Crop Protection.Are proficient in experimental design, development and data analysis.Familiar with 3D protein structure and understanding of ligand interactions.Have excellent interpersonal, management and organizational skills. Are a self-starter, confident communicator with strong leadership and team skills.Display excellent written and verbal and presentation skills as well as a proven use of MS-Word, -Excel, -PowerPoint, querying large databases.Ability to travel up to 5% domestically and internationallyCreate your own chemistry with you@BASF
