Description Position at SBM Management

SBM Management is searching for a Lab Technician! The Lab Technician is responsible for helping to ensure a clean lab environment, report any lab room or facility problems, clean and organize lab facilities, glass washing tasks, keep a daily log of duties as required, perform other related duties as required, and request cleaning materials as needed. They must keep assigned areas clean and in an orderly condition. They have to work successfully with co-workers, customers, contractors, & others. They must understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written. They must also understand instructions for tasks using basic communication skills.

Responsibilities

Comply with safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at-risk behavior of others and self.Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.Perform repetitive tasks.Maintain clean work area.Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.Take direction and respond to supervision.Talk with the lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.Maintain logs and schedules.Proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools, and other equipment.Use proper personal protective equipment.Present a professional appearance and conduct.Understand customer service and satisfaction.Understand reporting systems and the importance of the environment.

Examples of tasks include but are not limited to:

Removal of non-hazardous, solvent, and biohazardous waste.Hand-wash small, delicate items (spatulas, bantanware, etc.).Pickup and return clean and dirty glassware, pipettes, and tubes from the washroom.Clean Buchner/Sintered glass funnels.Autoclave non-hazardous materialSupply and remove radioactive waste containers and biohazardous drums.Fill liquid nitrogen dewars (tanks) and supply dry ice.Deliver and remove L.S. 160s and gas cylinders.Deliver packages and equipment within or between laboratories.Move furniture and laboratory equipment within or between laboratories.Clean laboratory benches, counters. sinks, hoods, refrigerators etc.Housekeeping of Laboratory Services operational areas.

 

 

Qualifications

Experience in aseptic or GMP/regulated manufacturing. H.S. diploma or GED or equivalent combination of training and experience.Completed all safety, environmental, and task training certifications.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental rules, equipment operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to speak effectively to customers, co-workers, contractors, and team members.Very good communications and decision-making skills.Ability to read blueprints and/or other technical documents a plus, but not required.English preferred, Bi-Lingual in Spanish a plus.

Shift: 7:30am-4:00pm

Compensation: $17.75 per hour
