Position Overview: 

Under the general supervision of the Laboratory supervisor, the Lab Tech III is responsible for compounding dry seasonings, setting up raw materials for sensory evaluation, basic inventory management and maintaining a clean and organized work space.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Compounds dry seasonings as directed by development staff. Accurately weigh materials Visual survey of materials and final blends Completes compounding in a timely fashion Maintains inventory of key raw material Orders from the FMC or coordinates ordering from Dallas Keeps track of shelf life of raw materials in the lab Keeps a clean and organized lab space Fills raw material containers Sanitizes lab space General organization of Lab spaces Fulfills SARS Compounding and proper packing of product Coating Shipping Coating finished product Screening samples Customer samples Large batches for consumer testing (tetrad/CLT/HUT. Etc) or customer Sets up raw materials and finished goods for basic sensory evaluations Sensory evaluation Screens product for quality on the commercialization bench for both raw materials and finished seasonings Participates in NQAL sensory panels Ability to follow GLP’s and understands laboratory safety.  Communicate effectively with other members of the lab

 

Qualifications

General laboratory experience. Ability to adjust work plan to a frequently changing list of priorities. Has a baseline understanding of food sanitation and food safety. Ability to perform moderate physical work over prolonged periods while standing Ability to lift 10 pounds continuously, 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally Basic computer skills. Preferred: 2 years lab experience or 12 college science credits.  Preferred: 2 or 4 year college degree

 

Base Salary: $20.94/hr - $31.42
