Lab Tech - Manufacturing Facility

System One is seeking a Lab Tech to work in an East Houston plant (77011) This is a Direct Hire position.  Must have 2+ years experience working as a lab tech Schedule is 6am-2pm with some OT SAP experience a plus Microsoft suite experience/ computer savvy High School Diploma required, some college lab courses preferred Full Job Description Below: 

SUMMARY:  To perform all lab activities to meet customer- requested specifications in a manner to assure quality production at minimal cost in a safe working environment.  

POSITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  Schedule and maintain lab service contractors. Maintain all daily and periodic tests, charts, logs, records, and calibrations to comply with procedures. Maintain affordable and efficient supply inventory. Reproducibly process lab sample requests. Maintain samples inventory and retain sample storage system. Perform final analysis and report findings on materials that may cause problems. Create certificates of analysis for all outgoing shipments and ensure that the customer’s specifications have been exceeded. Enter data into inventory spreadsheets and databases. Collect and analyze data, prepare reports on findings/ conclusions, and make recommendations to the production department. Prepare test solutions and standards. Perform a variety of daily tests on raw materials and finished products. Other duties assigned by management.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Mathematical Skills Background and competence in statistics and mathematics as used for quality control & assurance. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply basic algebraic concepts Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Other Skills Good computer skills including using Microsoft Office products. Experience with SAP a plus. Able to work independently safely, and unsupervised for entire shift. Good problem solving skills. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekend.   EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent, collegiate laboratory based courses in the physical sciences (i.e. chemistry, physics, biology) is preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
