Lab Technician
Job Title: Pilot Equipment Operator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Pilot Equipment Operator to set up and operate pilot equipment such as evaporators, crystallizers, and boilers. This role involves managing simple hoses, pumps, heaters, and centrifuges throughout various testing processes. The ideal candidate will record and document outputs from the equipment, including pressure, temperature, gauge levels, and chemical data. Additionally, performing analytical testing like titrations, spectroscopy, solids composition, crystal characterization, and microscopy is a key part of this role. Responsibilities + Set up and operate pilot equipment such as evaporators, crystallizers, and boilers. + Operate hoses, pumps, heaters, and centrifuges during testing processes. + Record and document equipment outputs including pressure, temperature, gauge levels, and chemical data. + Perform analytical testing such as titrations, spectroscopy, solids composition, crystal characterization, and microscopy. + Document all laboratory results and collaborate with team members to develop products per customer applications. + Maintain basic laboratory practices and ensure a safe, clean working lab space. Essential Skills + Experience in any kind of laboratory setting and any kind of testing. + Base understanding of lab processes. + Ability to be taught equipment and testing procedures. + Experience in chemistry, biology, titration, and reverse osmosis. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with reverse osmosis and crystallization. + Background in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Inorganic Chemistry. + Open to candidates with multiple years of experience, entry-level candidates, or those with lab experience but no degree. Work Environment You will be working in a lab environment with approximately 15 other team members. The position requires night shifts from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Initial training will be on the first shift for a few weeks to a couple of months before transitioning to the night shift. Candidates must be open to working up to 12 hours per day and possibly helping out on weekends as the pilot process runs 24/7. This is a contract position with the potential for hire based on performance, offering the opportunity to gain significant R&D, chemical processes, and inorganic analytical testing experience within a short period. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
