This position is within ITW’s Specialty Segment, Zip-Pak division. Zip-Pak is the global leader in resealable solutions for the flexible packaging industry. Our expertise in zipper, application technology, and packaging systems makes Zip-Pak the primary choice of brand owners, OEM’s, and converters for innovative resealable solutions. Zip-Pak’s lean, modern, and continuous manufacturing environments produce zippers using high-volume plastic extrusion. The division has +300 employees, 6 global manufacturing sites and presence in North America, South America, and Europe. The purpose of the Lab Technician role is to safely operate the R&D extrusion line, to analyze and test zipper, and film. **Responsibilities:** • Setup and run extruder line during material and die trials. • Maintaining trial records, filing system, and samples. • Ability to work independently, be analytical, attention to detail, good listener • Utilize test equipment to analyze product - I.e.: digital calipers or microscope • Complete line setup and run trials on the R&D extruder line • Conducts lab test to determine material performance • Organize and schedule work based on incoming requests • Maintain inventory samples per established unit • Communicate status of requests **Qualifications** • Familiar with Microsoft Office - specifically, Excel & Word • Mechanical aptitude - can turn a wrench and not scared to get your hands dirty • High school diploma or equivalent • 2 to 3 years industry experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate who possesses a strong work ethic, drive, attention to detail, strong attendance record, etc. **Physical Requirements:** 1.
