Lab Technician
Laboratory Technician - 1st Shift
Job DescriptionSet-up and run laboratory experiments Analyze test specimens Perform tasks on projects relating to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis (this includes experimental setup, data collection, and data reporting). Inspect, test, repair, and install equipment. Work in one or more areas of technical expertise to develop the capability of working independently on project activities while performing work under the supervision of the project investigator. Follow the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Assurance program on projects. Record research activities performed in the lab book. Other duties as assigned – i.e., solution preparation, cleaning test cells, moving items throughout the lab, calibrating equipment (following a prescribed procedure).

Qualifications B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or similar Strong mechanical aptitudeMaterials testing is a plusMUST have a strong understanding of hydraulic pressure testing (MTS, Instron, Servohydraulic or servo-hydraulic, Fatigue testing, Tinius Olsen)

Environment

Will be working in a lab setting with 12 other technicians.

Shift

M-F 8am-5pm. Can expect to work overtime on a regular basis. Flexible start time between 7am-9am.

Duration -

6-12 months on contract prior to converting to direct.
