Job Title Lab Technician Job Description + Research and development lab support. + Provide support to Food Technologist. + Weigh ingredients, make samples, follow blending procedures, and follow formulas to make recipes for R&D projects. + Form and cook products in the lab. + Clean glassware and sanitize pilot plant equipment after each run. + Responsible for reporting on lab results. + Very hands on - must be either mechanically inclined or culinary focused individual - will have to hose down pilot plant equipment, make sausages in casing, etc, cannot be afraid of hands on. No analytical lab testing - they do not have analytical equipment in the lab, more like a kitchen. + M-F 9-5 Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Food Science preferred, not required. Minimum of an Associate's degree is required but a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Can be any science degree but food science, nutrition, culinary are best. + Experience in a food manufacturing plant is preferred, not required. + Previous experience in a laboratory setting, could be academic. + Interest/passion for food science/ culinary arts/ cooking. + No food allergies.
