Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for new graduates to gain valuable skills and professional experience with a growing food manufacturer in Syracuse, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for product and microbiology testing, data entry, and maintaining sample retention for shipment, among other duties.

ResponsibilitiesConduct product and microbiology testing.Enter and maintain computer data.Set up testing tables and maintain sample retention for daily samples.Test raw ingredients.Resample nonconforming or experimental product totes.Observe all GMPs, HACCPs, good housekeeping, and safety rules and regulations.Complete all individual training as outlined by the training matrix or management training schedule.Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor or Lab Lead.Essential SkillsBS in Biology or Microbiology (AAS will be considered).Experience in a laboratory setting.Knowledge of bacteria culture, food testing, and plating.Understanding of chemistry, quality assurance, microbiology, wet chemistry, titration, diagnosis, inspection, data entry, and pipetting.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good communication skills.Proficiency in computer data entry and maintenance.Work Environment

This position operates on the 1st shift, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The work environment includes a laboratory setting where adherence to GMPs, HACCPs, and safety regulations is crucial. The role involves handling various laboratory equipment and maintaining good housekeeping standards.
