Lab Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our growing team. This role involves navigating a plant environment to obtain liquid samples, performing various lab tests, and ensuring compliance with FDA and plant standards. The position offers the opportunity for internal movement after a one-year contract. Responsibilities + Navigate the plant environment to properly obtain liquid samples from silos using FDA and plant standards. + Maintain awareness around machines and forklifts. + Test samples using lab equipment and instruments, including tests for pH, acidity, freezing point, viscosity, and solid/fat percentages. + Ensure samples are kept within the specified range. + Document all procedures with dates and signatures. + Keep the lab clean to prevent contamination and ensure supplies are refilled. + Follow FDA and plant standards in the lab and plant at all times. + Calibrate equipment daily and perform other daily tasks. + Receive phone calls from the dairy and various parts of the plant. + Continuously multitask to ensure products and samples proceed ahead and meet specifications. Flexibility is required, as there may be a need for 6-day work weeks and occasional 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am) based on production and staffing needs.
