Actalent is currently hiring a Lab Technician with at least 1 year of experience for a food chemistry laboratory. Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. This position involves sample preparation, supporting chemists, and performing various tests such as proximate, protein, fat, moisture testing, and more. The role will allow you to gain valuable experience with new instrumentation and methods. Responsibilities + Prepare samples for testing. + Support chemists in their daily tasks. + Conduct proximate testing to determine the composition of samples. + Perform protein, fat, and moisture testing. + Carry out extractions and centrifuging procedures. + Ensure all testing procedures are followed according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Essential Skills + At least 1 year of experience working in a production-based lab. + Proven ability to follow critical thinking processes and adhere to SOPs. + Experience in a lab environment focused on chemistry. Work Environment You will be working in a Mytoxins/Vet Drugs lab where we test for nutritional values, contamination, and quality of goods both imported and exported. This role requires high attention to detail in a lower volume setting. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with potential flexibility based on business needs and after completing a three-week intensive training program.
