Job Description
As a Lab Technician, you will perform chemical and instrumental analysis on fuels, oils, and other lubricants using standard testing methods prescribed by ASTM. You will prepare solutions or solvents for various tests, transfer samples within the lab, and maintain workbooks and equipment according to SOP and TIP test procedures.
ResponsibilitiesPerform chemical and instrumental analysis on fuels, oils, and other lubricants using ASTM standards.Conduct analyses on any new samples introduced.Prepare solutions or solvents for various tests.Transfer samples from one area to another within the lab.Maintain workbooks and equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.Ensure compliance with SOP and TIP test procedures.Essential SkillsExperience in a lab environment, including sample preparation.Proficiency in MS Office Suite.Ability to perform mathematical calculations.Experience in washing glassware and handling lab equipment.Familiarity with basic lab safety procedures.High School diploma.At least one year of college chemistry and math or one year of related laboratory experience.Ability to lift and transport 50 lbs.Additional Skills & QualificationsRecent associate degree in science.Recent lab experience through school.Work Environment
You will work in an industrial lab setting focused on research on automotive products. The shifts are from 6 am to 3 pm, 8 am to 5 pm, or 3 pm to 11 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. There is a noticeable fuel/oil smell with the samples handled. Training is provided through hands-on shadowing.

The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $15.50
