Job Description
As a Lab Technician, you will be part of a leading supplier of magnet wire, working in the magnet wire testing laboratory. You will be responsible for completing quality tests of magnet wire for various specifications, including investigation, design proposals, R&D, improvement, and performance. This role involves testing on QA and experimental runs, action requests, and sample orders. You will assist in preparing magnet wire enamels, thinners, and lubricants, and perform inspections and analyses of raw materials and chemical products to ensure adherence to specifications.
ResponsibilitiesComplete quality tests of magnet wire for quality specifications, investigation, design proposals, R&D, improvement, performance, etc.Conduct testing on QA and experimental runs, action requests, and sample orders.Assist in preparing magnet wire enamels, thinners, and lubricants.Perform inspection and analysis of raw materials and chemical products to ensure adherence to specifications.Perform a range of tests that require high attention to detail.Read, understand, and use detailed instructions; perform testing; enter data; present data; and prepare reports or charts to report test results.Use chemical testing equipment and measuring instruments.Assist technicians, engineers, and management to analyze, solve, and correct problems.Use computer programs, quality systems, and tools as part of the quality management system.Follow all procedures, methods, and guidelines to ensure quality, safety, and production goals are met.Enter records or write up data for company reports.Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to give and receive information while maintaining positive working relationships.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma1+ years of GMP experience1+ years of experience within quality assurance/quality control lab tech roles1+ years of experience with basic laboratory techniquesAbility to work a 3rd shift, 12-hour scheduleStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong working knowledge of computersKnowledge of Quality Systems (ISO/QS/TS)High attention to detail, organized, and above-average mechanical skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsLab experienceGMP experienceQuality controlChemistryInspectionQuality assuranceCalipersQuality inspectionMicrometerQuality checkWet chemistryTitrationWork Environment
This position is for the 3rd shift (8pm-8am) on a 2-2-3 schedule with every other weekend required. Training will be on the 1st shift (8am-4pm) for the first 4 weeks. The work environment is a climate-controlled quality laboratory in a new 60,000 square foot facility. You will gain hands-on quality lab experience with opportunities to grow within the organization. The team is cohesive with 1-on-1 training from experienced lab technicians. The role offers exposure to multiple groups and departments across engineering and sciences, and the opportunity to learn from a lab tech with over 30 years of experience.
