Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to perform daily analytical tests according to applicable test methods and procedures. The Lab Technician will be responsible for testing and analyzing samples to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics. You will follow established company policies and procedures, applying acquired job skills to set up lab equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control under general supervision. This role is essential in ensuring the precision, accuracy, and quality of work products.
ResponsibilitiesPerform daily analytical tests according to applicable test methods and procedures.Test and analyze samples to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics.Follow established company policies and procedures to set up lab equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control.Produce test investigation reports for any out-of-specification test results.Prepare chemical solutions for use in processing materials, following standardized formulas or experimental procedures.Pass a color acuity test performed by the quality personnel to perform titrations.Ensure precision, accuracy, and quality of work products.Document results of tests and analyses.Maintain laboratory equipment through daily cleaning and consistent preventative maintenance (PMs).Maintain cleanliness of the work environment.Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, recognizing the need for occasional deviation from accepted practices.Escalate issues to the supervisor for resolution as necessary.Follow all company policies.Assist with various projects as needed.Essential SkillsExperience in a laboratory setting (academic lab experience is satisfactory).Proficiency in laboratory techniques including titration, pipetting, and viscosity measurements.Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Experience with laboratory instruments such as Atomic Absorption (AA) instruments and Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) Spectroscopy.Strong understanding of chemistry and some microbiology.Ability to maintain precision and accuracy in test results.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemistry is preferred.Experience in Microbiology or Biology can be considered.College students with relevant experience may be considered.Work Environment
The Lab Technician will spend most of their time working in the lab, performing quality control (QC) on raw materials and finished products. The work environment requires adherence to safety and cleanliness standards, ensuring that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and the workspace is kept clean
