Title: Lab Technician
Location: Rutherford, NJ area

Responsibilities: Help to validate alternate raw materials given the various shortages (by physically putting together lab mixes). Help with physical work (mixing and cleaning high viscosity Black Polyurethane Sealants). Assistance in High Viscous Polyurethane Sealant development, testing, laboratory maintenance and operating in accordance with all of company safety policies Operate in a safe manor; understand and comply with all safety and environmental policies. Must be able to follow work instructions and carry out tasks on projects with minimum supervision. Able to learn appropriate test methods and procedures Ability to learn basic chemical concepts and formulating tools in specified technical area. Keep accurate records of test results and be comfortable explaining results to all levels of management. Clear communication, verbal and written, i.e. Reports, memos and emails. Maintain lab equipment in good operating conditions, Diligent Cleaning after Batch making in Shared Equipment is essential to the work Hands on lab work working with Calcium Carbonate, Clay powder, Carbon Black, Polyurethane Prepolymers and Plasticizers. Proper preparation of lab scale formulas per recipe, mixing and casting of samples per appropriate standards, ASTM, and company procedures. Accurately test laboratory, production and competitive samples per mixing and test instructions. Maintain a safe, well organized and clean work area. Provide support for PDP and quality processes. Demonstrated good organizational and planning skills in follow up testing and recording of data. Attend all company provided training programs. Requirements: BS Science Degree recent graduate Min High School Diploma with 2 plus experience or a 2 year Technical Associate Degree Some industry experiences related to working in a materials lab, ASTM testing preferred Good communicating and writing skill Basic skill in Microsoft Word and Excel.
