Lab Technician
Job Title: Full Time Lab Technician Job Description As our Full Time Lab Technician, you will be responsible for gathering samples, prepping them for QC testing, and conducting analytical tests. You will work a rotating schedule with day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays. Expect a 10-hour workday in a 4 days on/4 days off cycle, with potential overtime. Responsibilities + Gather samples manually from the plant. + Prepare samples for physical and chemical testing. + Conduct tests including stability, hardness, GC, UV Vis, Mercury Analysis, Atomic Absorption, and Distillation. + Record and report test results for quality measures. + Follow ASTM and industry standards for testing and analysis of Coal, Metallurgical Coke, Petroleum Products, and Wastewater. Essential Skills + High School Diploma. + Lab experience in school or on the job. + Theoretical knowledge of chemical stoichiometry, mathematics, gravimetric, volumetric, instrumental, and physical methods of analysis. + Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Prior materials testing experience with materials such as Coal. Work Environment The lab is located on a coal and coke mining and processing facility, and can be dirty and smelly. The lab can get warm in the summer and cold in the winter. The role requires no travel and includes a paid lunch, but you must stay on-site. The team consists of 11 individuals working over two shifts.
