Job Description
As a Lab Technician, you will undergo several months of comprehensive training, including assay testing, site safety training, and method training. Upon starting your shift, you will coordinate with the previous shift to prioritize tasks for the day, and testing will be scheduled by leads and supervisors. You will perform HPLC testing, GC testing, wet chemistry (appearance, pH, density), and eventually ICP mass spec testing for sodium. You will support the On-Demand Laboratory, handling 5-10 samples per day with a turnaround time of 10-12 hours. This role involves testing a wide range of biological, chemical, and physical analyses on pharmaceutical products, biologics, and drugs at various stages of the manufacturing process.
ResponsibilitiesGeneral laboratory housekeepingCleaning laboratory glassware and equipmentPreparing materials for sterilization in the Laboratory AutoclaveOperating and maintaining laboratory glasswashersMaintaining and stocking departmental consumable inventoryRoutine verification and maintenance of temperature-controlled unitsSetting up and disinfecting media supplies and equipment needed for testingPerforming sampling of critical utility systems (e.g., water, air, alcohol)Performing non-batch release testing (e.g., raw materials, environmental monitoring)Assisting in filling and archiving departmental data binders, reports, and investigationsRetrieving samples from manufacturing areas for laboratory testingHandling maintenance and disposal of laboratory wasteLogging and receiving all samples into the laboratoryEntering data into LIMS and initiating Stability Studies/SamplesEssential SkillsExperience with HPLC, GC, and wet chemistry1-3 years of experience working in a chemistry lab with chromatography experienceExperience in a GMP environmentAnalytical chemistry and pharmaceutical manufacturing experienceKnowledge of basic chemical and biological safety proceduresGood computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointAdditional Skills & QualificationsAbility to handle multiple tasks concurrently and in a timely mannerEffective verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of laboratory equipment including autoclaves, incubators, and analytical equipmentAbility to read and follow detailed written instructionsMay lift, push, pull, and carry up to approximately 25 lbsMay work in controlled environments requiring special gowning and protective clothingWork Environment
You will work on a rotating 2-2-3 day shift from 6 AM to 6:30 PM, including every other weekend. On Sundays, you will work an 8-hour shift starting between 6 AM and 8 AM. The work environment may require special gowning and protective clothing. The position involves a combination of sedentary work, standing, and walking around the facility.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
