additional details:

- % of time spent preparing samples vs testing on samples

Approximately 70% of the time is spent in the woodshop preparing samples. This involves preparing wood boards, gluing them together, cutting them into test pieces, and exposing these pieces to various conditions such as water immersion and drying. The remaining 20% of the time is dedicated to running tests on these samples and compiling the results into a report. The process of wood and sample preparation involves the use of various carpentry tools, including a radial saw, band saw, table saw, planer, and jointer. etc.

- Time in the woodshop vs running chemical samples

Approximately 80% of our time is spent in the woodshop, while 20% or less is dedicated to preparing chemical samples or working in the chemistry lab to conduct lab cooks. Our work involves handling isocyanates, which are similar to the Gorilla Glue you might see in a hardware store. We also measure the %NCO and viscosity among other parameters.

- What types of testing will this individual be running or assisting with and what laboratory instrumentation are they using?

We primarily use Instron for testing mechanical properties. Additionally, we observe adhesive bond lines under a microscope to identify failed spots, which we later measure. Our work also involves the use of a rheometer, NCO titrator, and a hotplate for determining the % solid, among
