Job Description

This position is responsible for performing duties in the purification and testing of previously characterized polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies by performing the following duties.

ResponsibilitiesRun immunoaffinity columns to purify antibodies.Run ELISA assays to characterize the purified antibodies.Make buffers which are used for antibody purification.Purify monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies via immobilized antigens, Protein A, Protein G, and DEAE.Characterize antibodies by Ouchterlony, Immunoelectrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, and ELISA.Exchange buffers and follow procedures to conjugate antibodies to HRP, AP, and FITC.Prepare buffers and reagents.Clean and maintain general lab and equipment.Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience with ELISA, antibodies, protein purification, cell culture, wet bench, protein assays, protein biochemistry, Western Blot, and pipetting.Proficiency in pipetting, cell culture, antibodies, reagent preparation, purification, and validation.Strong mathematical skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).Proficiency in mathematics, biology, clinical research, clinical laboratory, clinical lab, and SDS-PAGE.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or Medical Technology.Experience in mammalian cell culture and/or molecular biology is preferred.Proficiency in computer skills.Ability to use lab equipment.Knowledge of lab safety.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.Work Environment

This position is set in a slow-paced lab environment with a standard day shift from 7:30am/8am to 4:00pm/5:00pm. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00
