Lab Technician
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for performing daily analytical tests according to applicable methods and procedures. Your role will involve testing and analyzing samples to determine various characteristics such as strength, stability, purity, and chemical content. Additionally, you will prepare chemical solutions following standardized formulas and assist in laboratory projects related to microbiology testing. You will be expected to follow established company policies and procedures while setting up lab equipment and instrumentation for tests, research, or process control under general supervision.
Responsibilities
+ Perform daily analytical tests according to applicable test methods and procedures.
+ Test and analyze samples to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics.
+ Prepare chemical solutions for use in processing materials, following standardized formulas and experimental procedures.
+ Assist in laboratory projects related to microbiology testing.
+ Follow established company policies and procedures.
+ Set up lab equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control.
+ Produce a test investigation report for any out-of-specification test results.
+ Document results of tests and analyses.
+ Maintain laboratory equipment through daily cleaning and consistent preventive maintenance.
+ Ensure the cleanliness of the work environment.
+ Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, with occasional deviations from accepted practice.
+ Refer to senior staff for assistance with higher-level problems.
+ Escalate issues to the supervisor for resolution as necessary.
+ Assist with various projects.
Essential Skills
+ Laboratory experience.
+ Knowledge of Chemistry and Quality Control.
+ Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GDP (Good Documentation Practices).
+ Experience with Microbiology.
+ Proficiency in Wet Chemistry techniques.
+ Ability to perform titrations and pipetting accurately.
+ Experience with instruments such as Atomic Absorption (AA) and Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) Spectroscopy.
+ Understanding of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred, but candidates with Microbiology or Biology experience will also be considered.
+ Previous lab experience, including academic lab experience, is satisfactory.
+ College students with relevant experience may also be considered.
+ Experience in Quality Control (QC) on raw materials and finished products.
Work Environment
You will spend most of your time working in the lab on the third shift from 9 PM to 5:30 AM. The role involves a blend of chemistry (90%) and microbiology (10%) work. The work environment requires adherence to safety and quality protocols, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of lab equipment. The position offers a competitive hourly rate plus a 15% differential for third-shift work.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.15 - $24.15/hr.
