Lab Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to perform laboratory tests and other lab work using both conventional and computerized machines and work aids. This role involves preparing and painting panels, running physical and wet chemistry tests on paints, formulating paints, and documenting and analyzing data. The successful candidate will work according to prescribed standards to determine the chemical and physical characteristics or composition of various materials and operate laboratory equipment and instruments. Pay Range $18-$24 Responsibilities + Perform laboratory tests using conventional and computerized machines and work aids. + Prepare and paint panels. + Conduct laboratory work and tests according to prescribed standards. + Determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of materials. + Set up, readjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments. + Formulate paints. + Document and analyze data. + Conduct routine testing as required. + Run physical tests on paints. + Perform wet chemistry tests such as viscosity, pH, and titrations. + Pour and mix paints. + Work collaboratively within a larger team. Essential Skills + Experience with laboratory work and testing. + Knowledge of wet chemistry testing techniques. + Basic lab quality check techniques and quality control. + Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). + Experience with chemical coatings. + Attention to detail and professionalism. + Basic lab knowledge and ability to perform basic lab tests. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required. + History in coatings is highly preferred but open to strong candidates without it. + Organic Chemistry coursework is a plus. Work Environment The successful candidate will work in a laboratory setting and may occasionally lift paint buckets weighing up to 50 lbs. The work schedule is from 7 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, with no weekend work. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced chemists, network with them, and ample room for growth in various roles such as Lab Tech, Chemist I, Chemist II, Chemist III, and Lab Manager.
