Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team. The candidate will undergo several months of comprehensive training, including assay testing, site safety training, and method training. The role involves interacting with previous shifts to determine daily priorities and conducting various tests such as HPLC, GC, and wet chemistry (appearance, pH, density). The candidate will support the On-Demand Laboratory by handling 5-10 samples per day to support manufacturing, with a turnaround time of 10-12 hours for test results.
ResponsibilitiesPerform general laboratory housekeeping.Clean laboratory glassware and equipment.Prepare material for sterilization in the Laboratory Autoclave.Operate equipment preparation and cleaning systems, including laboratory glasswashers.Maintain and stock departmental consumable inventory.Verify operating parameters of temperature-controlled units routinely.Clean and maintain temperature-controlled units routinely.Set up and disinfect media supplies and equipment needed for testing.Perform sampling of critical utilities systems (e.g., water, air, alcohol).Perform non-batch release testing (e.g., raw materials, environmental monitoring).Assist in filling and archiving departmental data binders, reports, and investigations.Retrieve samples from manufacturing areas to the Laboratory for testing.Manage maintenance and disposal of waste generated throughout the laboratory.Retrieve and receive all samples into the Laboratories.Log samples into logbooks.Receive samples into LIMS, EBM, and/or JDE, and aliquot samples.Store and organize samples in appropriate Controlled Temperature Units/Environmental Chambers.Enter data into LIMS and initiate and pull Stability Studies/Samples.Essential Skills1-3 years of experience working in a chemistry lab with chromatography experience.Experience in a GMP environment.Knowledge of wet/dry chemistry or biochemistry test methods.Compendial raw material testing.Maintenance of associated assay equipment.Reconciliation of test results.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to handle multiple tasks concurrently and in a timely fashion.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of most laboratory equipment including but not limited to autoclaves, incubators, and analytical equipment.Ability to read and follow detailed written instructions.Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures.May lift, push, pull, and carry up to approximately 25 lbs.May work in controlled environments requiring special gowning and protective clothing.Work Environment
This position operates on a rotating 2-2-3 day shift from 6 AM to 6:30 PM, with work every other weekend and an 8-hour shift on Sundays starting between 6 AM and 8 AM. The facility features a state-of-the-art campus with over 1,100 employees and includes multiple laboratories, manufacturing buildings, and a warehouse with ambient, cold, and freezer storage. The campus also offers amenities such as a full-service cafeteria, coffee bar, fitness center, and patio. The work environment supports manufacturing plasma-derived therapies for patients with rare and complex chronic diseases, and involves various areas of work including quality control, quality assurance, compliance, engineering, and more.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
